ILL BEHAVIOUR FILM

We’re hoping you can help us with a short film we’re making as an interview subject.

We’re Mark Oldfield and Simon Mooney, friends and neighbours, with a shared history of music and clubs since the 1980s. Over the last year, we’ve been out almost every weekend to some of the best places in the country to hear dance music.

We’ve discovered young DJs like Che Wax and Minsky & Hum and danced like the old fools we are to David Holmes and Sasha. We’ve had a great time at places like the Golden Lion in Todmorden, Hidden in Manchester and Distrikt in Leeds.

In the process, a community of around 20 people has come together to regularly support venues and DJs and contribute to a thriving dance music scene in the north of England. It even feels accessible to the more mature enthusiast, of a similar age to at least some of the DJs…

Simon is a film maker and Mark a bit of a dance nerd and former DJ, we’re making a short film about the people and places that give life to the northern dance scene they see. Simon has worked behind-the-scenes extensively in football and would like to take a similar view of how some DJs work and live.

Interviews with artists and people who make it all work (promoters, bar staff, punters) would form part of the soundtrack, as would music from the sets of the nights we’d cover.

The films below demonstrate how we work with people, our approach to photography and editing and how we do interviews.

Please email Mark if you’re happy to talk or call him on 07939 046693.

Thanks, hope you can help.
